Happy Birthday to the King!

 although he too is one of the long-gone legends amongs the heroes of music history, passed away over thirty years ago, it still is a kind of celebration to think of the birthday of elvis presley, who would have been 75 today.

as i dont have any of his records that i could post here i will just say a couple of words. of course i am not a die-hard elvis fan (than this blog would probably be titled heartbreak hotel or whatever), but no one can deny his great influence on rock&roll; and the developement of music in general. he didnt only turn arthur crudups old and rather sedate blues number thats alright mama into a bodyshaking rocker, that became the basis for almost all covers of that song afterwards, he also was very important to a band that a lot people refer to as the biggest group that there ever was (even bigger than jesus perhaps). baby lets play house wasnt even his own song though, but the line “id rather see you dead little girl, than to be with another man” from this song reappears in lennons run for your life on …
