about me
I started collecting records in 2009 and own around 1,900 vinyl records, mainly from the 1960s and early 70s. I am always eager to get the original first pressing of a record if it is possible and affordable. My special subject are 60s garage and freakbeat obscurities and my focus is mostly on 45s, but also LPs.
And besides records I really like cats :-)email:

Eddie Cochran3.10.1938 – 17.4.1960
Some of you might already have wondered about the title of this blog. I chose this name in honour of one of the greatest rock&rollers in the long row of those who helped to form rock music as we know it today, and who was tragically killed at the young age of 21 in a car crash. His most famous hit was, and will ever remain, the all too well known “Summertime Blues”. He was also resposible for hits like “Somethin Else” and “C’mon Everybody” and his work has been covered by numerous aritsts over the time. The tongue-in-cheek song
Twenty Flight Rock
might not be as popular as his big hits, but being a huge Cochran fan I like it so much that it became the title or motto of my blog. I’m gonna raise a fuss and im gonna raise a holler!tags

The Day the Music Died
although the 50th anniversary of the so-called “day the music died” (we all know who said that… and for the younger ones: it WASNT madonna!) is itself already a year ago, we wont forget about buddy holly and the other two stars we lost that night, namely j.p. richardson (aka the big bopper) and ritchie valens.
many people celebrate the myth of the great “27ers”, those are jimi hendrix, janis joplin and jim morrison (sometimes kurt cobain, and perhaps any other musician that coincidentally died at 27 are counted among them aswell), who died young and at the very height of their carriers. many people moan that these three died so incredibly young, but most of them dont know or dont care that holly and especially valens were even younger when that accident killed them – the first one only being twenty-two and the latter only seventeen – and at that tender age holly had already created the “soil” that a whole, fruitful direction in music would grow from and influence a lot of other genres to this day. thatll be the day was one of the first songs that john lennon learned to play on his banjo before …
