it was yesterday that we lost the man who initially brought the sitar into western, and especially into psychedelic music. the man who influenced the music of the 1960s and afterwards, notably that of the beatles, like no other.
ravi shankar reached the biblical age of 92 years, but his musical heritage will live on many times his lifespan.

some of you might already have wondered about the title of this blog. i chose this name in honour of one of the greatest rock&rollers in the long row of those who helped to form rock music as we know it today, and who was tragically killed at the young age of 21 in a car crash. most famous hit was, and will ever remain, the all too well known summertime blues. he was also resposible for hits like somethin else and cmon everybody and his work has been covered by numerous aritsts over the time. the tongue-in-cheek song might not be as popular as his big hits, but being a big cochran fan i like it so much that it became the title or motto of my blog. im gonna raise a fuss and im gonna raise a holler!
